This is how a modern rock album is supposed to sound. It has a little bit of '70s space rock thrown in too. No wonder "The Resistance" won a Grammy for Best Rock Album. It's amazing and catchy as hell. No filler here, folks. "Uprising" was an excellent choice for first single. "Resistance" is the BEST track/5(K).

To be fair there are a couple of tracks that aren't their best, but they're not terrible. Another great album, and I now own EVERY muse album! You can't compare albums by them, they're their own thing. You can't compare, say Simulation Theory with Absolution, Resistance /5().

The album is a bit short by prog standards, but given the genre intent, the 42 minute length feels almost indulgent (actually, its perfect)! Also, I do like the retro 80’s artwork and design to the booklet/cover, etc. but my only complaint in that regard is that the lyrics in the /5().

On any given Muse album you might get some Queen references, a bit of Prince, but always unmistakably Muse. After the heaviest album the band did, "Drones", they have decided on "Simulation Theory" to go whole hog on the synth/computer angle, creating a great pop album that still contains the best of Bellamy's and the band's artistry/5(5).
